The village of Coniston lies at the head of Coniston Water in the heart of the LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK.

Coniston is a small village but has all the amenities for a most enjoyable holiday. There are five pubs all serving bar snacks and meals and several cafes. A Co-op, Spar and general store all stock a good range of supplies.

 

THURSTON HOUSE is in the centre of the village and consists of a large Victorian house, now converted into 7 self-catering apartments.

THURSTON VIEW is a beautifully restored cottage in an elevated position, with panoramic views of the lake and Grizedale Forest.

Coming from Ambleside turn left at the YEWDALE pub, (opposite the BLACK BULL). The CROWN is directly in front of you and the road splits down either side, where it joins together again in about 100 yards Thurston House is on your left.

In the centre of the village you will find a petrol station, opposite it is Station Road, proceed up here for about 150 yards and where the road narrows and becomes very steep, turn left and immediately right up another very steep lane marked THE BANKS. In about 100 yards you will come to a row of cottages. We are in the centre of this row and the private parking space is marked at the end of the row.

Terms and conditions

One third deposit (non-returnable) is required on booking, payable either by cheque or by Debit Card (no charge) or Credit Card (2% charge)

The balance is due six weeks before date of arrival.

After making a booking clients become responsible for the full amount should they have to cancel. Every effort will be make by the owners to re-let the property in which case a refund of the balance may be payable. We strongly suggest you should take out your own holiday insurance to cover your needs.

We aim to present the accommodation to the satisfaction of incoming guests and ask that it is left in the same condition you found it.

Any loss or damage must be reported and paid for before leaving

Consideration for other guests is expected at all times. Unreasonable behaviour may result in guests being required to vacate the property immediately without refund.

The owners reserve the right to enter the property if they consider circumstances deem it necessary. Should the owners have to cancel for any reason they shall only be liable for refunding the amount paid.

Keys are normally available from 2pm to 4pm on day of arrival but other arrangements may be possible if required.

The property must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.
